Use doly to pit in back yard..opem the 1st and 2nd boxes...start with those make the base then open boxes 3 and 4 and put plastic end caps on metal ceiling shutters. Make sure you are putting them the correct way or else you will work twice. They should all face the same way and side just like the 1st and 2nd ones thst are controlled with the arm. Level your pergola and tape around the base foot, before you add the ceiling panels. Looks at alot of videos and put some moving blankets on floor to put panels on. I have nothing negative to say about this except that it is a foot shorter than most of the other pergola I was looking at. Its fine because none of us are 7 feet tall but the other ones are all around 8 feet tall like a ceiling. This ones only 7 feet tall. Other than that its very sturdy. My husband and I actually put it together by ourselves and we use the boys, our teenage sons, a couple times to help lift it and move it I would say overall it was pretty easy to put together just ted. It is beautiful, but hard to build, a lot of screws, which take an Alan wrench, all that could have been avoided with the use of buttons that click into place, but the worst part is the Curtains, the directions do not tell you how to put the curtains up, it took four times, with trial and error to figure out how to hang the curtains, if you buy one, you will know what I mean. But when it is built, it is so pretty, and cool inside, the neighbors have stopped speaking. That is when you know you have done good Just a tip, the heavy drapes go on the big bar with the tie strings in the outside, so you can tie the onto the poles with the seam Aligning with each pole The mosquito netting hangs on those smaller curtain rods, which angle out the wrong way to someone that doesn’t know what’s going on, I can zip them and place them on the small skinny curtain rods, making sure that the ties are facing toward the pole that ties them to the pole, And unzip them as you go, that’s pretty much it. I was nervous at first, because the photos show the posts and headers as multiple pieces. However, we have had it standing in our deck for a few months now, and it holds up very well to rain and strong winds. It sagged in the middle at first, but when screwed in place to the deck, the header straightens right up. The brackets are heavy duty metal, fastened through pre-drilled holes in the treated wood. Im looking forward to seeing how it does this winter in the snow.. Erin. Amherst, NY. Tue Jul 07 2026

I had installers handle the installation and other than some challenges with drilling it into my cement pad, it seemed to go fine. It certainly looks nice, however, there is no way to affix mosquito netting/screen to it due to the width/square shape of the rim around the top edge. Also, the first time it rained after it was installed, it bled brown onto my cement pad. That did come up when I had it power washed.. Lisamarie. Rockville, MD. Sat May 09 2026
