It has realistically looking plastic needles but you not going to see them at all, and inner part of a tree is different- in my understanding to maintain the weight otherwise it would be too heavy to handle. My tree size is 9 feet as we have 12 feet high ceiling. I’m also obsessed with lights and it’s modes. My favorite is fading from all yellow lights to multicolored ones. The height and circumference are perfect for my needs. The lights are so easy just put the poles together and wahlah! I do wish it was fuller. I took it out of the box and spent almost 2 hours fluffing it up…but there are still quite a few bare spots that you can see right through.
