The colors on this lantern are really beautiful in person. My pictures aren’t really doing it justice. It is surprisingly made of plastic, rather than metal, so it is rather lightweight. That’s the only reason why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. It lights up either by solar power or it has a battery compartment in the bottom. When the light is on, it flickers slightly like a real candle would. There appears to be an off and on button but if it’s “on” and you’re under a light source, it’s not always lighting up. If it’s dark then it does light up. So if you want it lit up in a lighted room, I was not able to get it to stay on. As soon as you dim the light, it turns on.
