They can stack, or sit inside one another like nesting dolls. That is how they shipped. They were packaged well. When we opened them, they smell like wood and stain. Protect hundreds of your kitchen's secrets. Made of gorgeous Acacia hardwood, this Recipe Box is functional and beautiful due to its rich, shimmering colors. Perfect for 6" x 4" recipe cards, the slot on the top of the box will hold the card you need for easy instruction reading. This recipe box's minimalistic design will add character and charm to any kitchen. Decorative functionality at its finest. This product is made from Acacia Wood from Thailand, a non-endangered species that is not harvested from rainforests. In fact, we plant a tree for every tree we use. **Use & Care** After use, wash this product in warm soapy water and wipe excess water off with a dry towel. Never soak or leave water on the wood during drying as it may result in warping over time. Wood products should never be washed in the dishwasher. Rejuvenate and protect your board by rubbing it down with Butcher Block Oil after each use. When the board is dry, apply the oil liberally and allow it to soak in thoroughly before use. Regular application of our Butcher Block Oil will prevent cracking and preserve the rich natural colors of the wood. From time to time, the surface may become "bumpy". This is completely natural as we leave all of our wood in its natural state with no varnishes or lacquers. You can simply use high grit sandpaper to smooth it out and oil it again to bring it back to the new!

This box is made of 100% screw construction (no nails or staples). Thick lumber is used with additional supports where it matters.

When we received the planter boxes we were delighted with how they looked. We haave had planter boxes by the steps of our back door for almost 20 years and every few years we need to replace the boxes. In the past the boxes were redwood without any lattice or decorative trim and we never had any comments on how they looked but this year we have had numerous comments on just how beautiful they look. Thank you for having such nice looking planter boxes!. Garry. Layton, UT. Wed Aug 19 2020
