The carpet fibers also stuck to my brand new vacuum so that was fun cutting out! For the price of the rug, I would expect less shedding. It is a great rug though, and it does not need a rug pad whatsoever because of how thick it is and it vacuums great. Just sheds a lot at first (hopefully!).
