You would not feel the hardness of the chair after a long time sitting. Second, the bottom of the pad is anti-slippery and full of rubber dots. So even if your chair has slippery seat surface and without back, our pads would not go out of the seat when you sit down. Besides, for better stability, there are 2 ties that let you to attached the pad to the chair. Your action on the pads does not affect the pads.

Nice solid cushions. I like the idea that they are attached so that when in constant use they wont be slipping apart. The size is just right for a large outdoor chair. The fabric is thick and a true dark blue. Time will tell if the draining mesh area will work to clear out rain quickly as advertised...this was in the description but somehow I thought they were water repellant. The foam inserts arrived vacuumed packed and took a few days to rise to their height. One cushion did not evenly rise with a slight shortening at one edge but inserting the foam into the cover was easy. The piping at each edge gives them clean look.
