they are sturdy once you have the dirt in them, but seem a bit flimsy when empty. Be careful filling them, as I had my neighbor help me fill with his john deer and we had to go very slowly and level the dirt in layers so it didnt warp the shape. These stands seem very sturdy, they look nice and I think they are a good size. They did take a while to assemble, because of so many screws by me using a screwdriver.
