This is a really elegant set of high-quality dishes. Creamy white with a brilliant sheen and weighty enough to feel substantial. They're beautiful to look at and to touch. Artesano plates sport only a miter cut edge, which makes the edge both wider and more interesting than a rounded edge. It also makes the plates look heavier than they actually are. The rice bowls are 1/4" thick, matching the plate edge and are perfectly plain. The pasta bowl is slightly thinner and has the same mitered edge. Like a diamond solitaire, this design is absolutely beautiful in its simplicity. TWO YEARS LATER: Still love the dishes, and they remain in perfect condition. Excellent purchase. Why did I choose this? I had bought accent pieces of hand-painted Polish pottery and needed basic service that would complement it, not compete. I couldn't find cream colored pottery that did what I needed, and so I went with porcelain, though the two don't normally pair. I love this set! Of course you have to put the handles and etc together. The set appears to be of quality. I have not used them yet, but I am confident they will be great for cooking. I just love this little pot! The color I bought, Shallot, is like a soft pink/lavender color, and the weight of this pan is heavy, but still easily maneuverable on the stovetop. I had purchased an 8-inch GreenPan from Wayfair previously. I recently fried tofu in that pan. Frying tofu in a stainless steel or cast iron pan was difficult because the tofu sticks too much. It was easy in the GreenPan, and cleanup was no problem. I decided I needed a bigger GreenPan. The price for the 10-inch and 12-inch set was a bargain - just $20 more than the 12-inch pan along. We have a gas range, which seems to heat up most handles and utensils. With the GreenPan, the handle stays relatively cool.
