8 Foot Baby Gates

Reminder: Please measure before purchasing to ensure proper fit. Important: Do not cut off the rolled strip before installation is complete! As a busy parent and pet owner, I was worried about my toddler crawling onto the stairs or my puppy darting through doorways. This pressure-mounted gate solved it all! Made of thick steel with 2-inch spacing, it securely blocks pets—tested to hold 180 lbs. The 180° two-way door opens automatically: under 90°, it swings shut; at 90°, it stays open. I can easily carry groceries and open it one-handed. The door width is adjustable, ranging from 29 to 109 inches, suitable for every different opening where you need a door sill. The double-lock keeps kids safe but lets adults open quickly. Best part? No drilling—I installed it without damaging walls.

Used this to keep my dogs out of the front seat of my motor home. Couldn’t find anything made for that, but this works fine! I love that it has a gate so I can get in the back easily.. Linda. West Haven, UT. Fri Oct 02 2026

Is your furry four-legged friend causing chaos around the house while you’re out? Keep them confined to one room with this must-have pet gate! Crafted from manufactured wood, it features four panels with hinges so it can easily fold up for a simple storage solution when not in use. Plus, it has two support legs so it can stand freely without damaging your walls. And with neutral coloring, it won’t clash with your current color palette.

Attractive and Durable, but Needs Securing I've used this gate since December 2023, and it has held up well. It's attractive, heavy, and true to size, and I really appreciate the height. The included support feet are a nice option, although I don't use them. My main complaint is that my dogs can push the gate to the side unless I secure it with carabiners. With that workaround, it serves its purpose. Overall, I'm happy with its appearance and durability, and I prefer it to a typical utilitarian-looking pet gate.. Sims Family Reviews. Kansas. We needed a divider in our laundry room as the dogs go in and out of their dog door and into their space. It comes with floor secures too but we have tile and I’m not sure about drilling those in at this point. Thankfully my dogs get the list and keep to their side! You will need proper wall anchor screws for drywall as one of the hooks is starting to slip out of the wall from use. The product itself is sturdy and a great buy. This was one of the only retractable gates that came in such a length!. Robyn. Sugar Hill, GA. Mon Sep 28 2026

This is great. I was looking for a permanent solution to keep the dog from the front door and a way to separate the dogs from my niece when she visits. This is perfect fix. It opens and closes easily with adult human hands, meaning the dogs or my niece can’t open it. It also has a lock, which will be great when my niece is a little older. It is permanently attached to the wall so I don’t have to fumble with a gate, and it isn’t in the way. I am quite happy with this mesh gate.. Anonymous. Fri Jul 10 2026

The Cardinal Gates Step Over Pet Gate is the perfect solution for small pet containment. This freestanding gate has bar spacing's of 2.25” and is designed for small breeds, non-jumpers, and puppies. At 20" tall, this gate is the perfect height for you to step over, yet keeps your pet contained. It is adjustable and able to close off openings from 28" to 51.75”. Multiple 22” extension panels can be added to increase the maximum width of this gate (model SGX, sold separately). READ ME! I was a little stumped by the assembly of this gate, but once I figured it out (with NO help to the included instructions or video), I really do like it. Upon receipt when you unscrew the two main pieces of the gate, keep an eye out for 4 small square nuts that may fall out of the grooves. After you determine the size needed, these nuts are essential to hold the two gate pieces together. The video and instructions make it seem like you just simply fasten the screws into the grooves on top and bottom. Well, you do, but if you screw only into the grooves - without the square nuts - there is nothing to catch the screws, and thus, you will be unsuccessful. If you are luckier than me, and your nuts don't fall out of the grooves and go missing for a few days, you need to know that the nuts can be moved back and forth inside the grooves depending on the size you want. Use these nuts to secure your screws, and you'll be golden! I have two small dogs (up to 9 pounds each), and I chose this gate because it is adjustable to any size you wish, and it has feet (rather than needing to be secured to a wall). The feet can be placed along the bottom at any desired location (or you can opt not to use them at all). I chose to screw them in the bottom (but you don't need to) because it gave my gate added stability, and seeing how I plan to move the gate to other locations, this way I don't have to worry about the legs falling off during the moves. The feet have rubber pads at the bottom which help them stay in place on the hard floor. If you're looking for a gate where you wish to increase/decrease the size often to let dogs through, this isn't the gate for you as that would be a bit cumbersome with screwing/unscrewing; however, if you want a gate that sits at a certain size and can be stepped over or easily moved, this is perfect! I am 5'4" and can easily step over the gate, but my small dogs cannot get over/through it. I hope this review helps!. Theresa. Sun Prairie, WI. Fri Dec 06 2019
