Assembly was decently time consuming, and it took some effort to get the drawers and doors aligned correctly, but we managed fine. We love this buffet. We had bought a black one and a white one. The directions are 95 excellent, there were a few challenges, but overall, it wasn’t difficult to put together. The 5 that we caution people on is step 16 and 17 regarding the second phase of putting the drawer slides in. These steps were difficult to understand. You have to bring the pieces to the work area to figure it out. We both were working on a piece at the same time and came across the exact same issue. We enjoy putting items together like this and saving money, but this one took so long, about six hours, (there are 37 steps for assembly) that we agreed it would’ve been better to have Wayfair do it. for the hundred bucks a piece.. Perfect sideboard cabinet. The area in my breakfast nook used to end up filed with clutter and empty boxes. With this item I turned it into a bar. I should have done this years ago.... now I'll probably need to join AA. One thing I love about Wayfair furniture, the assembly instructions were concise and easy to follow. The cabinet is nice for what it is. Not sure what it is made out of, it has a “plastic” feel to it. The top is definitely synthetic, looks good from afar, but very fake look and feel up close.
