If you try to buy this direct the shipping costs are outrageous. Just get it from Wayfair as it ships 10x faster and is actually cheaper when you account for the shipping costs of company direct. It took longer than expected to receive the countertop but it arrived in immaculate condition and looks amazing. I put on 3 thin coats of wipe-on water based satin polyurethane to protect it and sanded lightly with steel wool in between coats. I’m really happy with this kitchen island. Assembly definitely takes some time because there are a lot of pieces, but everything is clearly labeled and matched to the panels, so it’s easy to stay organized if you follow the instructions. It took me a little while to get it all put together, but once it was finished, it was absolutely worth it. The construction feels solid and sturdy, and it looks much more expensive than I expected. The built-in LED lighting is a nice touch and gives it a modern look. There’s plenty of room for seating, meal prep, and entertaining, plus the cabinets and drawers provide a ton of storage.
