These gorgeous Olivewood Giraffes are carved by hand by master carvers in Zimbabwe, with whom we have been working with for over 20 years. Giraffes are known throughout Africa for their natural curiosity. Twiza is the name for giraffe in the language of the Shona people of Zimbabwe. An old African folktale tells of God speaking to his newly created animals as to their purpose on earth. As God spoke to Twiza, she stretched her neck to heaven to hear more clearly. God was pleased and gave her a long, elegant neck so she could reach the leaves of the tallest trees - and as a sign to others that extra effort is rewarded.

So happy with my purchase! The giraffe was shipped with care. The giraffe made with Olive wood looks beautiful in person.. Diana. Tue Jan 20 2026

Cozy and rustic, the depth in this tree-inspired sculpture adds warmth to any living room. The long strip of walnut wood features structured distressing that produces an industrial feel when coupled with the iron base.

They piece looks cool in selected areas. I would not suggest setting it on carpet, because it is heavy and slender, and it wobbles. I recommend it on a hard surface. Also, a little messy coming out of the box, because some tiny pieces of wood came off, but not too much of an issue.. Annette. Arlington, TX. Tue Jun 23 2020
