I was looking at a $1600 fireplace. I seen this one for less than $400 and took a gamble and ordered it. I just knew I was going to be disappointed, have to return it.. To my surprise its very nice. It took about an hour to assemble. I am confused about the led lights in the back because there's no instructions for them, I just left them rolled up. I put white stone in there, caulked the seems. Arrived a day late but was well packed. Laid out in a way that the top pieces are the ones you need to assemble first. No digging for the next piece. Instructions were clear and easy to follow. The firebox was less than we hoped for. The flames were not of high quality like we've had on a different electric fireplace we had, and it seems like it consists of a bulb inside a spinning drum to get the effect, which would be OK, but the spinning drum makes more noise than you'd expect and detracts from the whole effect. Summary: The mantel is awesome. The firebox, much less than awesome. Wish I could replace just the firebox with something better. This is so beautiful. Just what I wanted! I did not use the bottom piece because I wanted the fireplace to be shorter than the window. Assembly of the mantle was straightforward. Really nice realistic looking fire. Not real easy to assemble.Husband took lots of breaks due to his bad back. He had a little help from my son. Took around 5-6 hours to assemble. For a person without issues shouldn’t take that long. Fit my son’s 85” TV nicely. Feels sturdy. We like that you can tilt the stand. This is beautiful for the space in the bedroom. It is 59” across and the mantle is 64”. It was extremely easy to assemble. The screws for attaching the firebox are easy self drilling screws, so don’t have pre- drilled holes. As others said, it is top heavy and wants to fall forward. A bottom shelf inside horizontally might fix the instability. Company should work to improve this design flaw. I found a door wedge on both sides secures it in place. Will probably exchange to clear ones. I didn’t want it secured to the wall yet with the enclosed anti-topple devise so I can change the room around. Definitely needs securing in place though. For permanence, I would use inconspicuous L brackets. The bigger Real Flame Alcott 75” is stable having a bottom to it. Yes this is my second Real Flame purchase! Caulking the crevices gives it the carpenter complete built in look. Did not get it for the heat, just the flame aesthetic. I do use the timer feature. I had somebody put it together for me and it took him about an hour and a half. Even though the fire is artificial, it casts a nice warming, comforting glow and has sounds to go with it.
