The trunk is a beautiful piece of sturdy solid wood. I purchased it because it has the black metal legs and front handle that complements my current industrial bedroom furniture. Only four stars because it arrived damaged in two places. One at the left hinge attachment to the wood trunk, the other is a split in the wood on the right side of the trunk where the leg attaches. We were able to nail the wooden block into place to attach the metal leg securely and hopefully prevent further splintering. The quality control needs to be in place for both the preparation of the furniture for shipment AND ensuring the shipper HANDLES THE FURNITURE WITH CARE DURING SHIPMENT. This rectangular trunk is made of solid mango wood. The trunk has multi-layer carved circles in front. The look of the trunk is shabby elegance which settles easily with contemporary rustic interiors. It is deep from the inside to hold many blankets, pillows, throws, or toys. It has a distressed turquoise finish on the trunk and the cover has a dark walnut lacquer on it. The contrast of the finish on the trunk and its cover makes it an impeccable décor for your home.
