I gave this bowl 4 stars only because the color description is misleading. It says “brown”, but it actually looks like a rustic brown/gray./green. I've been looking for a rather large cereal bowl that is microwave safe for oatmeal that won't spill over while it cooks. The outer sides of the bowls have a hobknob-type pattern which helps with grabbing the bowl without it slipping between the fingers. These are large and perfect for oatmeal and several other dishes.
