Macho Fern, also known as Giant Sword Fern or Nephrolepis biserrata, offers a fuller, more dramatic presence than many traditional ferns. Use it as a stand-alone accent, group several together to frame an outdoor seating area, or pair it with coordinating patio furniture and garden décor to create a relaxing resort-inspired setting. Its generous size can help soften hard architectural lines, fill open areas, and create a lush backdrop around entrances, walkways, and gathering spaces. In frost-free climates, it can remain outdoors year round. In colder areas, move it inside before temperatures drop. Planter is great quality and nice size. But missing the wooden stand. Upon arrival, the plant had quite a bit of wilted leaves. I hated to have to trim the fern, but unfortunately there was not a chance to revive the leaves. Plant was packaged very well, it’s sad the plant arrived less than expected. But have hopes for the rest of the plant.. Anonymous. Thu Jan 25 2024

Foxtail Fern brings a soft sculptural element to indoor and outdoor décor. Its distinctive shape creates contrast beside broad leaf tropical plants, colorful flowers, and structured landscape shrubs. Use one plant as a simple container accent or repeat several to frame an entrance, define a patio, or create rhythm throughout a garden design. Its fresh green coloring pairs easily with natural stone, brick, wood, wicker, and neutral outdoor furniture. A terracotta pot creates a warm garden look, while a white, black, or concrete planter gives it a cleaner contemporary finish. Its layered texture works especially well in coastal, tropical, Mediterranean, and modern outdoor spaces.

Kimberly Queen Fern brings a polished botanical look to indoor and outdoor living areas. Its vertical shape provides the fullness of a fern while taking up less walkway and floor space than wider arching varieties. Use a matching pair to frame an entrance, define a patio seating area, or bring balance to both sides of a console or doorway. Place it in a white or black planter for a clean coordinated look, terracotta for added warmth, or a woven basket for natural texture indoors. Its rich green coloring pairs easily with wood furniture, stone, brick, rattan, and neutral textiles. In colder climates, move the plant indoors before temperatures drop to continue enjoying it through the season.

The Beaucarnea guatemalensis, or more commonly known as the Ponytail palm and Elephants foot, are unique looking, long-lasting indoor plant which are perfect for beginners or expert plant lovers because of its low maintenance and easy care needs. Despite its palm like appearance and name, the Elephants Foot is not a true palm, it is closely related to desert plants in the Agave and Yucca genus. The Ponytail Palm has a exclusive feature within the swollen base of its trunk, which is where it stores a reserve of water making it highly tolerant to drought. The texture of the trunk looks and feels like an elephants foot from which clusters of long strap-like leaves arch and droop gracefully from the trunk giving the impression of a palm. No 2 specimens are alike ensuring that your ponytail palm is 1 of a kind. If you're looking for a plant that will make a statement and add green color in your house or office with low maintenance and easy care, then the Ponytail Palm is a great choice. Indoor house plants are proven to be excellent air purifiers which help decrease stress and anxiety while stimulating creativity and productivity. Great for yourself or as a gift.

Birds nest fern (Asplenium nidus) gets its common name from the tightly curled new leaves that emerge from a brown rosette in the center. The tiny, unfurled fronds resemble eggs in a birds nest. Once unfurled, the fronds are long, narrow, and oblong, with wavy edges. It can grow to be quite sizable at 2 to 4 feet tall and wide, making it a good choice for both floor and tabletop planters. Birds nest ferns are a little fussy about humidity, according to the Missouri Botanical Garden. They prefer to live in the bathroom (if the light requirements check out), or at the very least well away from vents that blow dry, hot air. Mature plants can tolerate high light levels, but commercially grow best with 80 to 90 percent shade or 1,000 and 2,000 foot candles. Excessive light will slow the growth and cause frond deformities. The best temperature for Birds Nest Fern growth is 70 to 90 F. Temperatures slightly outside of this range will not reduce plant quality but will reduce growth rates. High humidity should be maintained.

The variety of Birds Nest Fern you will receive is hand selected based on beauty, health, season and availability. The birds nest fern is an example of a fern that defies our preconceived ideas of what a fern should look like. Even better is the fact that a birds nest fern plant makes an excellent low light houseplant. The birds nest fern plant gets its name from the fact that the center of the plant resembles a birds nest. It is also occasionally called a crows nest fern. Birds nest ferns (Asplenium nidus) are identified by their flat, wavy or crinkly fronds. Birds nest ferns grow best in medium to low indirect light. These ferns are often grown for their crinkly leaves and the light they receive will affect how crinkled the leaves are. A birds nest fern that receives more light, for example, will have more crinkled leaves, while one that receives less light will have flatter leaves. Birds nest fern is an epiphytic fern, which means in the wild it typically grows on other things, like tree trunks or buildings. When you buy it as a houseplant, it will be planted in a container, but it can be affixed to planks and hung on a wall much like staghorn ferns. In addition to light, another important aspect of birds nest fern care is its watering. Under ideal circumstances, all ferns would like to have consistently moist, but not wet, soil. However, part of the reason that birds nest fern makes an ideal houseplant is that it will tolerate soil that dries out from time to time.

Native to the tropical regions of Asia and east Africa, Asplenium antiquum Leslie comes from the same family of ferns as the 'nidus'. Like the nidus, this tropical plant prefers "rainforest" conditions in partial shade or indirect sunlight and humidity. Its leaves are differentiated from the 'nidus' by its compact uniform width and split curly ends.
