The third step of four is high enough that I can easily reach the ceiling to change the battery in the smoke alarm. Cons Its heavy. It weighs almost 30 lbs, so I dont use it unless I really need it. Also, the shallow angle means that the ladder takes up a lot more room when open than does a conventional ladder.
