Made of thick steel with 2-inch spacing, it securely blocks pets—tested to hold 180 lbs. The 180° two-way door opens automatically: under 90°, it swings shut; at 90°, it stays open. I can easily carry groceries and open it one-handed. The door width is adjustable, ranging from 29 to 109 inches, suitable for every different opening where you need a door sill. I like this and I am small enough fit through the gate, but my elderly father has trouble with it and his caregiver has trouble fitting through it and opening and closing it. My dog is 15 pounds and can’t get out of it, so that is the best part. Perhaps my Dad’s caregiver will figure out how to open and close it. This is great. I was looking for a permanent solution to keep the dog from the front door and a way to separate the dogs from my niece when she visits. This is perfect fix. It opens and closes easily with adult human hands, meaning the dogs or my niece can’t open it. It also has a lock, which will be great when my niece is a little older.
