This was a ridiculous amount of money to spend on a trash/recycling bin, but when you think of it as a piece of furniture...well, it's slightly more palatable. We've been using 2 bins, one for trash, the other for recycling for years but it was such a mess constantly all around and the look was just...unappealing...right in the middle of the action. So I saw this and decided to pay the price. I'm glad I did. This is an attractive piece that functions so well to contain the necessary. I love the touch lid; I'm not a fan of the foot levers as I have never seen one that has any longevity in anyone else's kitchen and that requires your bin to be floor level. The raised bin here is awesome; the handles make it so easy to move to sweep (when I do sweep lol). It fits under a standard height kitchen counter perfectly. The design of the lid allows the bin to be flush again the base cabinet and still function perfectly. I like the smaller sized bins inside as it forces us to take the garbage and recycling out more frequently because the stink usually builds before the bin is full in our household of two, so this functions better for us. Even in a larger household, if you keep the kitchen bins dedicated for just the kitchen, it should function well if you don't mind a more frequent chore, but if your household uses the kitchen trash as the main source of trash and you are a larger household, then you don't want this dual bin, you want the singular one. I love that the garbage is not exposed in the bathroom. I love automatically garbage cans. The main reason I bought it wasn’t to keep my kitty from pulling sanitary napkins, and used baby wipes out the garbage lol. It takes 3C batteries.. So far so good! I received the trash can today. I took it out of the box and thankfully it was packed well and no damage. I removed the can, inside the can is a very NICE touch. They give you 6 trash bags. The top is in its own box (same package). I remembered reading the listing when I ordered it. It says it would need 4AA batteries, so I had them ready. I put them in the battery compartment, put the included trash bag on the outside ring, placed it in the can, put top on and WOW! Less than 5 mins. I have a nice looking trash can. I did realize after finishing, I didn’t look at the instructions. It is easy to figure out without but the instructions are step by step and very easy to understand as well. You can’t go wrong with this purchase. I mean really, they even gave you bags. I have never bought a trash can with bags included. How can you go wrong?
