The trunk is a beautiful piece of sturdy solid wood. I purchased it because it has the black metal legs and front handle that complements my current industrial bedroom furniture. Only four stars because it arrived damaged in two places. One at the left hinge attachment to the wood trunk, the other is a split in the wood on the right side of the trunk where the leg attaches. We were able to nail the wooden block into place to attach the metal leg securely and hopefully prevent further splintering. The quality control needs to be in place for both the preparation of the furniture for shipment AND ensuring the shipper HANDLES THE FURNITURE WITH CARE DURING SHIPMENT. There were a few issues putting it together, mostly attaching the soft close hinges- they didn’t want to match up with the pre drilled holes and it took some force to make sure they were even close. Also the board for the bottom is very thin but with the 2 braces it doesn’t seem to be a problem. It is holding various sizes of blankets and pillows for my kids to grab when needed.
