These whiskey barrel planters are great. Our family has had three more just like them for 16 years. One is used as a small water feature with a bamboo fountain and the other two as traditional planters. Because of the size and material the soil does not dry out too quickly. For these two new ones, I've converted them into self-watering planters using sturdy 22 inch saucers and 1/2 inch solid-braid nylon rope for wicking the water up into the soil. Love all of the Sunnydaze Decor dual-walled planters! They are lightweight but well made and last forever--I have some that are 15+ years old. This large size is perfect for my largest plants and dwarf trees. I love the beige color--it absorbs much less summer heat than darker ones.
