I’ve got a fairly long and steep concrete driveway that is starting to show its age a little bit. There has been some minor cracking from the freeze-thaw cycle each winter. I decided to try the Armour SX5000 water-based sealant to see if it would improve the situation. I have delayed writing this review for a bit as I wanted to driveway to go through at least one winter season. I first pressure washed the entire driveway surface which is pretty time consuming. I then applied the Armour sealant with a manual pump sprayer. This part went fairly quickly. The trick is to get the sealant covering the driveway well, but not so much as to create puddles that aren’t absorbed. I made sure there was no rain in the forecast for a couple of days. Initially, I did half of the driveway first and the first day that it rained the difference on the two sides was very noticeable. Water on the coated side was beading and running off and on the other side it was being absorbed into the concrete. The light itself is very pretty when you get it up... For a $570 dollar light you would think it would come with all the mounting hardware, ground screw, and the hardware that did come with it should have been long enough. After figuring out how to fit the wires into the small hole for the fixing when it was time to put it up the screws were to short and you couldn't screw the cap on. So we had to unscrew the cap and use replacement screws that were long enough (too long so we had to add nuts). Screwing the caps on was extremely difficult do to the lack of space. The instructions were poor and you have to assemble to flowers (dont forget about them because I did and we need to add them after our battle). Overpriced for the lack of assembly and materials.. Bought AX-25 to reseal my pool deck and lanai. This stamped concrete deck has to be resealed every 2-3 years. Used tint from another company (very good stuff). However, I decide to give Foundation Armor a try for sealing. I am very pleased and find this to give a better appearance than the sealant I used before from the tint provider.
