I’ve got a fairly long and steep concrete driveway that is starting to show its age a little bit. There has been some minor cracking from the freeze-thaw cycle each winter. I decided to try the Armour SX5000 water-based sealant to see if it would improve the situation. I have delayed writing this review for a bit as I wanted to driveway to go through at least one winter season. I first pressure washed the entire driveway surface which is pretty time consuming. I then applied the Armour sealant with a manual pump sprayer. This part went fairly quickly. The trick is to get the sealant covering the driveway well, but not so much as to create puddles that aren’t absorbed. I made sure there was no rain in the forecast for a couple of days. Initially, I did half of the driveway first and the first day that it rained the difference on the two sides was very noticeable. Water on the coated side was beading and running off and on the other side it was being absorbed into the concrete. This has worked well for us. Way to out together and produces a great compost. One thing to note is that the compost can rest on the bottom ledge inside which can make it difficult to open the doors. Quick delivery! The instructions say you can use a hairdryer to inflate the tube, however there’s no valve big enough to accommodate that without a specific attachment, which is not included. An air compressor would probably work best. It’s made of thick plastic and should hold up well. Such nice tubes! Stiff at the beginning and so require a little breaking in before filling to max capacity. These are excellent and very well made. All of our snow melted by the time they arrived, but that didn’t mean the fun stopped there because our kids (4 and 2) turned them in to swimming holes and did full on cannon balls into them with no fear of popping.
