The Armor SX5000 WB is a PRO-Grade water-based penetrating water-repellent sealer. It penetrates deep into the substrate where it chemically reacts to form a hydrophobic barrier within the pores that reduces surface water absorption by up to 95%. The Armor SX5000 WB is made from high-quality, non-recycled, US-manufactured resins. It is designed for unsealed concrete, brick, pavers, natural stone, and porous masonry. It works entirely below the surface, won’t change the look or color of the substrate, and won’t leave a surface film. By reducing surface water absorption, cracking, spalling, pitting, mold, mildew, algae, staining, and other damage and deterioration caused by surface water absorption will also be reduced.

I’ve got a fairly long and steep concrete driveway that is starting to show its age a little bit. There has been some minor cracking from the freeze-thaw cycle each winter. I decided to try the Armour SX5000 water-based sealant to see if it would improve the situation. I have delayed writing this review for a bit as I wanted to driveway to go through at least one winter season. I first pressure washed the entire driveway surface which is pretty time consuming. I then applied the Armour sealant with a manual pump sprayer. This part went fairly quickly. The trick is to get the sealant covering the driveway well, but not so much as to create puddles that aren’t absorbed. I made sure there was no rain in the forecast for a couple of days. Initially, I did half of the driveway first and the first day that it rained the difference on the two sides was very noticeable. Water on the coated side was beading and running off and on the other side it was being absorbed into the concrete. This product imparts a greater gloss than Marmoleum has out of the box. I'd call it satin. We like the shine. Since it is a Forbo product it should be the most compatible treatment available. The instructions say it both cleans and shines though it makes sense to thoroughly sweep then clean the floor with mild detergent and water or the Forbo cleaner first. The turf grass is okay overall and serves the purpose I purchased it for. It was relatively easy to put down and looks decent once installed. That said, the quality is definitely on the lower end compared to other artificial turf I’ve seen. The grass isn’t particularly thick or plush, and up close it does have a somewhat inexpensive look and feel. For the price and what I needed it for, though, it works just fine. I wasn’t expecting a premium lawn-quality product, so I’m satisfied with it for a basic, functional option. It covers the area well, looks reasonably good from a distance, and does what I needed it to do. I would recommend it for someone looking for an affordable turf option for a practical project, pet area, temporary setup, or somewhere appearance isn’t the top priority. If you’re looking for something very realistic, thick, or high-end, I would probably spend a little more on a better-quality turf.
