I like the look of the barrel. A bit rustic in surface texture, but elegant too, in the shapely design. I’ve got a fairly long and steep concrete driveway that is starting to show its age a little bit. There has been some minor cracking from the freeze-thaw cycle each winter. I decided to try the Armour SX5000 water-based sealant to see if it would improve the situation. I have delayed writing this review for a bit as I wanted to driveway to go through at least one winter season. I first pressure washed the entire driveway surface which is pretty time consuming. I then applied the Armour sealant with a manual pump sprayer. This part went fairly quickly. The trick is to get the sealant covering the driveway well, but not so much as to create puddles that aren’t absorbed. I made sure there was no rain in the forecast for a couple of days. Initially, I did half of the driveway first and the first day that it rained the difference on the two sides was very noticeable. Water on the coated side was beading and running off and on the other side it was being absorbed into the concrete. Arrived in great condition, simple set up. Seems well made. You don't need to be extremely precise on gutter orientation. We have about a 24" gap from open down spout to the barrel opening. Before we had a chance to correct that it rained and it filled just fine. Ordering a second one to link together using a short length of flexible garden hose with female fittings on both ends.
