The Bessemer Screen Kit comes unassembled with 2 panels that can be connected using the included joiner clips. Please allow approximately 90 mins for the assembly of these two panels. This screen is made from our signature WoodTek Vinyl material that has the appearance and texture of natural wood but is actually premium-grade vinyl. This material is UV-resistant, weather-resistant, and virtually maintenance-free, perfect to upgrade your outdoor space. We are proud to offer products made of recycled PVC which reduces the carbon footprint of the Bessemer Screen. The boards that comprise the screens measure 39 7/8in W x 10in H and, once assembled have a 1/2in gap in distance between each other. Assembling and installing this screen is effortless with our no-dig installation system. Simply assemble by using our installation guide or online videos! If you have hard ground, we recommend wetting the ground that you plan to insert the panels into and then using a mallet to insert the stakes into the ground. This was a great sturdy option for me. I needed a fence to screen my dogs’ views to prevent fence fighting with the neighbors dog. I bought these to convert to summer window screens on my 1958 house in Albuquerque, NM. In the summer, the morning sun hits my back windows directly and puts a lot of heat into the house (and I don't want to replace the original steel window frames). I cut the feet off of the screens and made brackets from 1.5" aluminum angle to attach to the window trim, plus legs to support the weight. The screens are very heavy, and the plastic geometric sections are fairly thick, which is nice. The frame is sturdy and the black finish is durable. Although the description says that these can't be painted, Rustoleum 2X seemed to adhere after scuffing the surface with a Scotchbrite pad and acetone. (We'll have to see how it holds up over the summer.) My only issue with these is that the panels bow in the sun. These are made in Canada, so maybe they're designed for Canadian sun and not the high desert. :) It could be exacerbated by the fact that I have the frame horizontal, but the panels were bowing when I had them individually upright to spray paint. I would have tried the steel ones but was less confident that I'd be able to get the rust off for a clean painting surface. It would be great if these were offered in a primed steel option for painting. Overall I'd say these are pretty nice, but would work better in a shaded area, or go with the metal version.. James. I really like these screens. I bought an 8' piece of C-channel, cut it in half, and mounted each screen between the two pieces. Then I was able to attach them to my patio fence to help block the view a bit without completely obscuring the scenery. Plants will go in next. Even though the exterior box was damaged, the interior box was fun and the product was well packed inside. There were a couple scratches on two of the panels near the top corners near each other. Not sure if that was a manufacturing error or if it was damaged while packing but overall it looks nice where we have it.
