Still waiting on the chairs for this table. The base is heavy and the wood is excellent quality. I wish the tabletop were about an inch thicker, as it is quite thin with a very thick/dense base which throws off the aesthetics a bit. The Prestow uses a simple butterfly mechanism - gently pull on either end of the table to 'open' the sliding mechanism and reveal the extension piece concealed under the top. Lift and unfold the extension piece to create the additional length. Why not pair these with any of our matching wooden cross back chairs for a sleek look? Available in either white and gray, cream and oak or oak. This product is real wood and so it will age, which can result in colour variations.

Assembly was a little tricky because the leaf did not align with the pre-drilled holes. Moving the hardware fixed this. I REALLY like this table. My entire home was planned around organic, japandi, wabi sabi design and this table fits the bill! It’s a dark wood but it’s a muted dark tone which is exactly what I wanted. Took a star off because there were minor dings in the top when it arrived. This table is really a quality piece. It’s sturdy and has a rich, even stain. Assembly was very easy and everything lined up perfectly. Aside from the beauty of the table, there is really no good way to place chairs. The leg placement on the table prevents you from pushing the chairs all the way in. I included a picture of this and you’ll notice the manufacturer’s pictures do not have the chairs pushed in either (because it’s not possible). I did not notice this or consider this when ordering. Because of my limited space, I removed 2 of my 4 chairs to make it look like it makes sense.
