Scarecrow arrived undamaged. Instructions are fairly easy to follow but the construction isnt the greatest. Put together the base then feed the fake stump over the pole.. I will probably but a real bucket under him...idk how well it will do in the wind the, it is pretty flimsy. Make sure to put your four AA batteries in the body section before attaching to the pole! There will be a very tiny hole in the butt part of the scarecrows overhalls that will go over the pole. Slide him down and insert into the pole attachment that is barely glued on the back where the batteries go.... Mine came undone so I had to reglue it. Next you will locate the strip of velcro located on the back of the scarecrows legs and bend them back and pull up the bucket and attach to the piece of velcro there...I added more velcro. Next you will have to put your hand inside the back of the scarecrow where the top was inserted to the base pole and find the offon switch (it is located on the bottom side to the front of the scarecrow) Once you flip the switch on the head will jerk back so be careful! This scarecrow sits with his head hung down holding a bowl for halloween candy. It is motion scensored so when trick or treaters come to get a piece of candy, his head pops up, eyes glow red, and he talks. His head slowly goes back to a resting position. A few minor flaws but this scarecrow will be a big hit at halloween! Cant wait to put him outside. There is also a water bladder that keeps him from blowing over. 100 recommend!. Stephanie. Overall, I think the scarecrow set is really cute. However, I gave four stars because of the up finishing touches that are a little cause for concern. There was hot glue strands all over the scarecrows, some of the buttons on their clothes were broken and the clothing was cheap and fraying on the edges.
