This was initially going to be a 1 star review because when the bookcase arrived, every shelf and the bottom of the bookcase was damaged. I changed it to 4 stars because of how great the product support has been. I submitted the issue to wayfair and they put me in touch with the manufacturer, who offered to send a replacement if I sent the damaged one back. I didn’t want to deal with the hassle of returning such a large item so I asked for a partial refund and they offered 25 back, which I felt like was fair. They also responded every time in a timely manner. So while the product did arrive damaged, customer service was excellent and this experience won’t deter me from ordering from wayfair again.. Great low profile bookcase - well made , sturdy, all wood. Assembly was pretty easy - take your time but you’ll need a couple of screw drivers ( flat and Phillipshead) besides the tool they send. Standard Bookcase offers high-quality laminate construction and contemporary design. Shelves are thick and made with thermally fused, laminate for long-lasting use. The visible, one-piece backing behind the shelves is made with matching laminate. Both sides are finished. The bookcase features adjustable shelves, one fixed bottom shelf, square edges, and adjustable feet.

This is a beautiful piece actually; it’s quite nice for the price point. Of course the instructions only show pictures with lots and lots of small detail and it’s always nice to have written instructions alongside. It took us longer to put together than it should have. One additional mention which I will be contacting you about is the back of the bookcase requires about 20 drilled holes to receive the final back piece to complete the project. Only two screw holes are drilled at the top of the bookcase, and none of the other holes are pre-drilled. We will have to drill the holes ourselves. Other than that, we are satisfied.. Patricia. Bloomington, MN. Mon Sep 07 2026
