Alrighty, I was very excited to see this shower glass in a very, very rare size because my opening was 42.5” wide. As soon as I opened the box, I was disappointed to see that the door was the larger piece of glass and the stationary glass was the small one. In the photo, it shows the door as the smaller piece. I have an extremely tight space in my cabin bathroom, and I knew right away the larger door wasn’t ideal but it would still work. I’ve never installed shower glass, but I’m a very handy woman, and this really wasn’t bad or that hard. My husband did help with lifting the glass. Drilling through the tile required masonry bits and cutting the upper metal rail was tough with the tool we had, but we got it done. The paper instructions are useless, but there is a QR code to a video that is EXTREMELY helpful. I had it watch it 100 times and pause, but I couldn’t have done it without the video. There is a metal template that looks like a drywall corner bead that has predrilled holes to use as a template, and that was awesome to have. It made it so much easier. I ended up NOT installing the bottom rail that goes below the door because I felt my shower didn’t need it because I have a curb. I could always get a longer clear plastic door sweep. It didn’t seem structural at all. I would like to know if the manufacturer has a lower profile door handle (especially for the inside) because it protrudes out so much and makes my clearance only 18” to get inside the shower since my toilet is also in the way. Wish there was a open for a smaller door! But this kit is great, diy friendly, and the glass is THICK. Professional thick glass and better than the glass at the hardware stores. There are no extra pieces, so don’t lose anything! I never found a screw cap from the beginning after unpacking the boxes and wish there were a few extra pieces. And if your door opens any less than mine does here, the glass cannot be tightened. Ideally you want it to open 90degrees. Very nice door. Hinges are set for a 90 degree close. The hinges mount to one shower wall. If your walls aren't square with your shower base then your door will close too hard or not enough. If your door closes too hard, you can open a hinge and take a spring out. There are two springs in each hinge. If your door doesn't close enough you can open the hinge, remove the shaft and file or grind it to change the closing angle. I had to do the latter because my shower wall was at an angle that was greater than 90 degrees to my shower floor. The shower door directions don't mention altering the hinges. Installed this in our shower with an opening of 40 1/2 inches wide. Fit was pretty good had to use a little more silicone on the glass wall section. In my case getting the door to swing without rubbing the bottom water guard was a bit of work. But when all said and done door looks great. Very satisfied, strong and sturdy. Really awesome shower door. Instructions are really hard and there is no explanation of what you’re supposed to do. It was hard to know which side you were supposed to do. What too so it was just through a lot of trial and error. My husband was able to figure it all out, but it did take a couple hours for him to get it assembled and installed, but it looks awesome ..
