These are medium duty stair treads. This is my second purchase, the first set were used on my back stairs and have held up nicely for almost a year and a half and still perform and look good. I stapled them on the back stairs, but don't recommend doing that, the cheapo staples rusted. I have an older home and need smaller sized stair treads. These are perfect! It was very helpful that they're offered in a variety of sizes (not all treads are). Stair treads are easy to install, however you need to use double sided carpet tape to hold them and place and avoid slips and falls. We installed these for our common stairway that is used by tenants instead of a runner because you can replace a single tread that is damaged or dirty easier than you can repair a damaged stair runner. We purchased two different widths because we have both rectangular and triangular stairs. The triangular stairs are not as wide as the rectangular stairs. The different widths work. We did not need to cut or trim. So far it has been easy to clean the treads and the stairs.
