I searched a long time for a storage bench that would fit at least three or four couch pillows so when theyre not in use I could put them in there and not have my pets ruin them. I also have a short wall, so I needed something not as wide, which is very difficult to find. I love that it came as one piece and I only had to screw on the feet. Also in the pictures on the website the feet look black but theyre actually a very dark brown which I was happy to see. (Ignore my half-painted wall in my pic ...still in progress lol.) The trunk is a beautiful piece of sturdy solid wood. I purchased it because it has the black metal legs and front handle that complements my current industrial bedroom furniture. Only four stars because it arrived damaged in two places. One at the left hinge attachment to the wood trunk, the other is a split in the wood on the right side of the trunk where the leg attaches. We were able to nail the wooden block into place to attach the metal leg securely and hopefully prevent further splintering. The quality control needs to be in place for both the preparation of the furniture for shipment AND ensuring the shipper HANDLES THE FURNITURE WITH CARE DURING SHIPMENT.
