We LOVE this thing! Best upgrade ever. We purchased a sufficiently rated countdown timer switch with intervals that seemed appropriate for a bathroom heater (Leviton DT102 15-30-1h-2h) and have been enjoying this heated mirror so much. A brief ON will defog the mirror, while 15 minutes ON (switching on a bit before getting into the shower) is long enough for it to heat up fully and make a huge difference when stepping OUT of the shower. 30mins is great for getting ready on a very cold morning. The mirror optics seem very clear and high quality. We did not do the installation ourselves, as it was put in during a whole house rewire the electricians opted to put in a recessed outlet box behind the mirror and just plug it in there, rather than hard wiring it. This will preserve flexibility going forward. Because it was going in a very particular place, and we have plaster rather than drywall, they opted to install cross pieces of plywood secured to the wall, and mounted the mirror to the wood strips. It’s very secure-feeling. My one negative point is the thing gets so warm that it’s not comfortable to lean my face close (bad eyesight) for putting on make-up. This is something that might require finessing your timing if it was your only mirror, or setting up a small well-lit mirror in another location. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] received this heater, I was really glad to see it has a slick design,3 different speeds which allows you to heat up a room to your liking . I have pets so the automatic shutoff is a great safety feature. I have a open concept downstairs and as an older house there is a lot of gaps that lets in the cold, this has been a great help in warming up the various rooms, I tried it in two smaller rooms upstairs and it kept the rooms very comfortable. This fireplace has been such a wonderful addition to my home. I am disabled was able to do the very small amount of “installation” required by myself -one has to screw the legs onto the unit. It adds a lovely ambiance to my living room that everyone comments on enjoys. It puts out quite a bit of heat for a smaller size unit, comes with remote control, has many options as well the ability to pair it with one’s phone. I highly recommend this product, particularly for anyone disabled like me or those looking for a smaller size unit that packs a big punch in every way.
