Absolutely beautiful, black, solid wood table! It is not engineered wood or cheap MDF. Very easy to assemble. Just add the four legs. One of the two support pieces that go on the underside of the table came unattached during shipping but it was easy to rescrew it back into place. This table is really great value, esp. being solid wood and having the option to extend. I thought from other reviews it might feel rough or even splintery, but it definitely doesn’t to me. The finish of the table wasn’t fully what I expected, which is why I removed one star. It’s a little shiny and looks cheaper than I wanted in certain lights. The extension mechanism also works pretty well. It takes some getting used to and isn’t super smooth every time. But it works with some finagling. And of course, the white glove delivery assembly was awesome. Arrived damaged on one corner and a small dent thru the veneer on the table top. Wayfair said the manufacturer would reach out in two business days but its so heavy I dont want to handle a return. I think Ill put a coat of lacquer on it to keep my kids from scratching it. For the price this is an excellent solid table. Fits great in my small space and two wider chairs still fit side by side on the length.
