This is a great sturdy and handsome piece of furniture. Made of beautiful hard wood and metal frame. The finish is a little darker than I thought it would be, but still a perfect match for my bedroom, where I use it for my computer, printer and other items. There are adjustable feet at the bottom of the four legs, in case your floor is uneven, etc. This is a really nice piece. Unlike some other folks here who left reviews, mine does not have any strange or strong scent. It smells completely fine and normal. Everything came well packaged, with just the right amount of packing materials. There was a slight (very small) chip on the very bottom of the shelf I used on the bottom. Not from shipping, likely a small defect in manufacturing. They offered me a 15% discount and I accepted. I turned that shelf to face the back and I am satisfied. Came beautifully packaged! No dings. The color is slightly more orangey than I wanted but I’m okay with that. I love that there is no assembly, and the wood is fairly good quality for the price. Just two negatives - I wish I could remove the nubs (that join the units together) on the top unit, and the company sticker on the unit was a bear to get off - I don’t know why companies put them on the unit like that! A contemporary update on a traditional design, this solid wood etagere bookcase features two shelves, x-frame side braces, and an open back design. Place this design against the wall beside your television stand and use one shelf to store your DVD collection, and the other to display your favorite reads. Accessorize the shelves with laser-etched hurricane candles, framed family photos, and a vase of freshly-cut daffodils to round out the design.

This is a pretty darn nice, sturdy bookcase which isn't cheap plywood and that's a pleasant surprise at this price point. It fits perfectly between my computer desk and file cabinet where I needed shelfs for reference books. I deducted one star because of a few issues. Maybe I should have deducted two! It took me a little over an hour to put it together myself, mostly because the pictograph instructions aren't the best so I took my time and studied it, then went back to the website to download one of three other PDF instructions that seemed a little easier to follow. Instructions state to screw shelves and braces to both sides of the bookcase and then place the top piece. I've put together pieces with shelves before and I always find that it's easier to screw all pieces into one side, then flip it and attach the other side. Two of the holes were not drilled properly, making it difficult to get the side screws in and one of the shelves wasn't finished properly, having a weird tacky area where it appears the black paint was missed and something sticky was left. At some point, I'll have to give it a light sanding and repaint that shelf, but I don't have time for that nonsense today. Also, the instructions don't tell you that you'll need a rubber mallet to tap in the little plugs that cover the screws, but you will definitely need one to get them seated in properly.. Gloria. The bookcase is well made for the price point and went together very well, even though it took me 1.5-2 hours as I carefully read the well-written instructions at each step. It was actually enjoyable to assemble. It’s not real wood, of course, but it doesn’t look flimsy or low-grade. The anti-tip brackets work well for attaching to the wall.
