You will see nail holes, screw holes, nails, discoloration, scratches, dents, and many other variations. Each of these markings is a glimpse into the history of your shelves. You may see holes from a mortise and tenon joint or other time-honored wood joining techniques. You may notice where a hinge or hook is used to hang. These are made of real wood, however, one of my shelves required me to stain it in areas where the original stain job was not the best. I happen to have stain that matched so it wasn’t a big deal. They were easy to mount and they gave you plenty of screws and anchors. They are pretty sturdy but the holes that the pegs slide into could be a bit smaller Which would reduce the slight wobble. These shelves are beautiful wood and are pretty deep. I love the color as well. I wanted something to put plants on and they are solid holding a lot of weight. I had a bit of trouble putting them up because the studs in my wall weren't spaced right they were to far apart to hit two studs. I ended up using one stud and 4 drywall anchors. This gorgeous set of 2 shelves is handcrafted in Lancaster country, PA by our local Amish artisan partners. At 11" deep, they are perfect for your dishes. The wood is reclaimed barn rafter and has all of the characteristics that you would expect from reclaimed barn wood. Thick and sturdy with handmade raw metal low-profile brackets that give your shelf a floating appearance. Please note that the brackets must be mounted into wall studs. Mounting hardware is included. Shelves come with set screws that go up throughout the bracket into the bottom of the shelf to eliminate any movement due to any imperfections in the reclaimed wood. Reclaimed wood is not perfect.
