Overall, this is a very nice table. I could not give it five stars because of the difficulty in putting the 12 screws for the hinges in. Because the wood is not prepared for the screws, doing it by hand is not possible. It is easy to put together other than that. This beautiful Shaker table, made in Vietnam, is beyond my expectations. First of all , the shipment packing in 2 boxes was very well done to protect the table and legs. It shows the pride the company has in its product workmanship. Second, the instructions were very simple. Except for the heavy weight of the table top where you might need help to carry it, you can put it together yourself on the floor, preferably on a rug to protect it when upside down. Or save the largest piece of cardboard from the packing. Im in my 70s and finished in 30 minutes. They even give you the tool to tighten the nuts, so you dont need to have any of your own. Also, if your floor is uneven you can later adjust for this with the levelers on the bottom of the legs. Im going to keep it natural but will apply linseed oil which is water repellent or tung oil which forms a protective barrier against moisture. Both leave a low sheen.. Nancy. Long Island, NY. Easy to put together. Lighter weight than I thought so it moves around easily … sometimes a good thing sometimes not such a good thing. Yes 4 people can sit and eat with plates and beverages and a salt shaker in the center but everyone is sitting close enough to see the pores in each other’s faces. No room for serving dishes so we eat buffet style. Not a problem for two or even three at the table. The “cracks” in the table top that simulate wood slats are just food crumb collectors so cleaning means getting a potato brush or toothpick to scrape them out when you wipe it off … best to use a table cloth.
