We purchased this for a new home build that had a slide in range in an island. We did not want an exhaust hood that hung down from the ceiling and this one was perfect for a flush mount in the ceiling. It was priced considerably less than other brands that had white glass finishes. There are a couple discoveries we made however. It did not turn on once the power was brought to the new build. We called Awoco and were told to check in the black box under the stainless grill, for a white connection that sometimes is disconnected. That solved the problem and the unit lit up and worked with the remote and the voice commands. Customer service was very helpful and seemed to know exactly what to look for. There is one other thing to be aware of with the voice command, occasionally it picks up what it believes to be a request for action and starts talking, asking for directions. We thought we were hearing voices until we realized it was the exhaust fan talking. Now if the TV or one of us saying something similar to "Hi Awoco" (prompt for commands) gets her talking we have a good chuckle.. Norma. Ware, MA. Sat Feb 14 2026

We got a range hood for our outside grill it took time to install because my husband built a wood box to attach it to our roof.it works great because now when we use the grill all the smoke doesn’t stay in the area and we are able to eat sitting around the grill. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a pull-out hood with a very low profile when installed. You can only see about 1" of the face, unlike most other hoods. I looked long and hard to find a hood like this. The suction of this hood is very good. Cleaning the filters is easy. They are removable and can be washed in the sink. There are three different levels of exhaust suction, even the lowest setting is suitable for most kitchen tasks. I like the brightness of the built-in lights. They have a warm color to them.. So far so good. Install was relatively easy, but because of its size, having a few extra folks to help hold it in place would be a good idea. My wife and I managed, but it was a bit tricky for just us 2 folks to install and we almost gave up. The gesture control seems a bit finicky, and we can't get it to work reliably. Maybe with time we'll figure it out. The buttons work fine though, and the remote control is a nice touch. The stainless-steel finish, display, and led lights look great. Definitely an upgrade from the Broan powerpack it replaced. As far as noise, it seems to be as loud as our old Broan PM350 we replaced. The grates tend to vibrate a little, so that with the fan contributes to the noise. I was hoping for something quieter, but it's no worse than the unit it replaced, so not a deal breaker. As for airflow, it seems a bit stronger than the broan unit it replaced, which was rate for only 350cfm. This one is rated at 900cfm at max speed, but i don't have a way to measure/confirm that. The fan cage seems bigger, and it's been doing a good job so far of keeping the smells/vapors out of the kitchen while cooking. This was delivered super fast. It was packaged well. It was what we were looking for, and now that I’ve got it installed and used it a few times, I can say it works so well, and I love it. I knocked a star off because there are some frustrating (welding) stains on the stainless steel, and I got cut on a piece of sharp metal that was sticking out of it. Other than that, it’s a dream, and for the price, I don’t think we could have gotten even close with another option.
