This was window tint stuff was necessary because I live by the beach with south-facing sliding doors that had no blinds when I moved in a few months ago. I ordered it in May 2026. It’s mid-April now and the sun is getting hotter with every passing day. So, I decided today that I need to just bite the bullet and try to do this myself. I hadn’t done it yet because I wasn’t sure what to expect based on the reviews… [Btw, I’m 46 F, single, my dad just passed away (he was great did all the handyman stuff whenever I needed anything) and I do have a brother but he lives 1.5 hours away.] Well, I used a baby shampoo from the Dollar Tree Store to clean the sliders a few days ago. Oh, and I used that brown paper that comes as “filling” in delivery boxes instead of paper towels to clean. Anyway, it only took about 4-5 minutes to cover the first slider door I did! I still can’t believe it! It took about 45 minutes to do the stationary window slider, however. The roll was too wide to fit right up against the window pane so I had to figure out how to cut the roll down to size. I seriously wish i had a little saw because that would have made it soooo much faster easier. Once the roll was narrow enough to put up against the window, it only took about another 5 minutes until it was finished! (I accidentally trimmed off some of the weather stripping, though, so be careful.) And now I’m leaving this review while I’m ordering another roll for my other south facing windows!. Kristen. You only need to clean the window surface and spray a lot of soap and water on it before applying. It can also be easily removed without any glue residue left, and it can be reused. Installation Tips: Before installation, please totally clean the window surface and corners to ensure that there is no dust on them. Remember to remove the protective backing film before applying and spray plenty of water onto the glass surface and static cling side of the window film for adhesion (the more water, the better). After installation, please trim the edges and leave enough space between the edge of the film and the window to easily squeeze out the air bubbles.
