These whiskey barrel planters are great. Our family has had three more just like them for 16 years. One is used as a small water feature with a bamboo fountain and the other two as traditional planters. Because of the size and material the soil does not dry out too quickly. For these two new ones, I've converted them into self-watering planters using sturdy 22 inch saucers and 1/2 inch solid-braid nylon rope for wicking the water up into the soil. These are huge! Perfect for raised garden bed that won’t require bending to tend…should also keep critters out. Seem sturdy and look nice. Assembly was simple. The pot planter is not your typical bucket. This tub is huge at 17.5 gallons of capacity. Take on big jobs such as mopping large areas or moving larger amounts of liquids or supplies around. The pot planter is made of thick polyethylene plastic that's both BPA-free and for contact with edibles. Not only does this mean it's strong & durable but incredibly safe for everyone from small children to pets. Because of its large carrying capacity, two large handles are molded into the top rim so you can easily grasp and lift or drag the bucket around. I just opened up the package from wayfair and saw the blue planter i ordered. Very pretty blue, but much bigger ( taller) than i expected. But as i get used to the size i think it will look beautiful on my patio with some smaller pots, and the height allows for roots to expand and plants to GROW nice and large.
