These are huge! And perfect for our streets cul-de-sac, they make a statement. They were lightweight enough for a 60 something woman to unbox. With help, we drilled a larger drainage hole from the inside and filled it with rock and sand. That still leaves you with half of the pot to hold dirt and plants. They are now so heavy that hopefully they can withstand what Florida can dish out. They have remained as bright as when first placed. This pot planter is high-fired centigrade to ensure frost resistance and durability. Due to the processes used in the manufacturing of their hand-made and hand-glazed containers, all variations with respect to firing, and crackling are natural occurrences in the manufacturing process. The glazes on their containers consist of natural, not chemical, components, and therefore the final color of the product will vary. This process creates the unique beauty of each piece.

I always read reviews before purchasing. I’m so glad I didn’t go with the ones saying the planter is orange which isn’t a bad thing as I was looking for brownish-orange planters which is their color! I purchased two planters and they look exactly like the stock photo no, better! The one in the the first pic appears lighter because my window, which gets lots of sunlight, was shining on it. The second pic is without the sun. They are gorgeous! I love the texture, size and sturdiness of them and they will go perfectly with my home’s brick color. In the winter, if a planter is to remain planted, they should be raised up off the ground making sure not to block the drainage hole. This allows the planter to drain and will prevent the planter from freezing to the ground. If the planter is not to be planted, it should be brought inside to a garage or shed. If this is not possible, follow the steps above, but turn the planter upside down to prevent it from filling with snow and ice. It should then be covered or wrapped with burlap or any absorbent material and then wrapped with dark plastic to prevent it from accumulating moisture.
