Our non-slip stair mats require no additional glue or nails. Directly laying on the surface of the stairs can be adsorbed. Adsorption firm not shift, to avoid walking feet brought about by the shift. I was looking for anti-slip treads that I didn't have to use adhesive on and these were a clear winner. They do have a bit of a funky chemical smell right out of the package because they are rubberized, but it dissipated within a day. I have an older home and need smaller sized stair treads. These are perfect! It was very helpful that they're offered in a variety of sizes (not all treads are). The Beige color is a nice 'neutral', rugs feel soft and they look nice on the steps; they fit perfectly. I'm really happy with these stair carpets- it was hard to find ones with the correct dimensions for my staircase which has pretty thick edging, and in the color that matches my painted stairs and is textured. I was worried they weren't going to be soft/cushioned enough, but the cross texture feels comfortable on my feet and adds that extra traction I was looking for. All around a great purchase! *Some things to note- it was hard to peel the thin plastic off the back, so just take your time with it, and make sure the Velcro truly lines up with the carpet edge or it will look crooked and not stick right. Machine washable custom-size latex skid-resistant back stair treads offer a large variety of sizes customized by inches. These are medium duty stair treads. This is my second purchase, the first set were used on my back stairs and have held up nicely for almost a year and a half and still perform and look good. I stapled them on the back stairs, but don't recommend doing that, the cheapo staples rusted.
