The box arrived really beat up, and I had misgivings as I was unwrapping, but the contents were protected. I have now had this sofa for over a year; I slept on it for three months while fostered cats and kittens took over my bedroom. It would work to use it as a daily bed, but it is VERY firm. The blue velvet fabric has held up nicely despite 2 cats (who fortunately, do not scratch it). I have received many compliments on it; it is the focal point of the sitting area. I received my couch yesterday and I'm quite pleased. It seems to be very sturdy and good quality. The seat cushions are very stiff, but I'm hoping they soften up with time so it will be more comfortable. The back cushions are nice and comfy. It had a smell when it first arrived, but that was gone within hours. I gave it four stars due to the stiffness of the cushions (but in all fairness, the couches I sat on at the furniture stores were the same). UPDATE: 6 months later...I love this couch.
