For the price point, it is a very good buy. It is actually solid wood, albeit a low-cost, softer wood, but as mentioned, for what I wanted to spend for the area I needed it for, it is perfect. There was a very strong petroleum based smell upon opening and assembly, but that has since dissipated and is no longer an issue. I am a 58 yr old female, and I had no issues putting it together. Was hoping it would be darker wood stain like pictured but it has more cherry tones in the stain. It does not match with my dark walnut furniture and is definitely not espresso as advertised.
