I ordered these chair mats recently and was a little surprised that they felt pretty cold when they arrived. If you’re ordering during the winter, I’d recommend letting them sit at room temperature for a while before unrolling them. Once they warmed up and I followed the instructions, they flattened out without any issues. So far they’ve been working really well. My chair glides smoothly on the carpet now, which is a big improvement from before. They also look nice and are easy to wipe clean, so maintenance has been simple. I got size 0.25" H x 60" W x 48" D - the largest chair mat available. The hardwood floorboards under the desk in my husband's home office were beginning to look stressed, so I ordered this to protect the wood. It was a little pricey for us, but I wanted it to be large enough so he wouldn't feel constrained, and I wanted it to last forever. (I could actually have gotten it cheaper from two other vendors, but I didn't trust them as much as I trust Wayfair.) I also got the Three Year Protection Plan that was offered because, after reading many many reviews from ALL the top makers of tempered glass chair mats, I could see that VERY occasionally, for some unknown reason, a chair mat from might suddenly just shatter (usually within the first year or so), so I got the Protection Plan to calm my fears about that.
