The chair bottoms were stacked, but they had plastic bags around them with sufficient spacing to separate them from other chairs, which made it easy to take them apart. There was no stickyness between the chairs. I like the chairs without the backing, so I did not install it. I decided to use them as backless barstools instead. I plan to get some kind of seat covers for them to add character and so it can hide the slots where the backing would have been installed. These stools better look really great without the backing. It doesnt crowd the kitchen island. I am happy with my order! I hope they remain sturdy and long-lasting. They definitely feel like they would without the backing. Try it out!!. Simplepink.
