I’ve got a fairly long and steep concrete driveway that is starting to show its age a little bit. There has been some minor cracking from the freeze-thaw cycle each winter. I decided to try the Armour SX5000 water-based sealant to see if it would improve the situation. I have delayed writing this review for a bit as I wanted to driveway to go through at least one winter season. I first pressure washed the entire driveway surface which is pretty time consuming. I then applied the Armour sealant with a manual pump sprayer. This part went fairly quickly. The trick is to get the sealant covering the driveway well, but not so much as to create puddles that aren’t absorbed. I made sure there was no rain in the forecast for a couple of days. Initially, I did half of the driveway first and the first day that it rained the difference on the two sides was very noticeable. Water on the coated side was beading and running off and on the other side it was being absorbed into the concrete. These vacuum bags come with a small electric vacuum which is great as it's much faster and easier than using a manual pump. The vacuum works well, but the bag I used ended up slowly inflating with air after I vacuumed it. I'm hoping it was just an issue of me not sealing the bag fully. You do need to go over the zip closure several times and make sure to press all the air bubbles out or it will not seal all the way and air will get back in. These water weight bags will make life a lot easier on windy days! They are made with durable material. There are 3 velcro straps on each bag which allow the bags to securely attach to each post.
