I have searched for quite some time to find a ceiling medallion for my walk-in closet chandelier. Most ceiling medallions sold online are flimsy hollow plastic but this one is solid wood and is absolutely beautiful! Of course I wanted a solid plaster medallion, but those are very expensive and typically purchased from a lighting company, but this one will definitely fit the bill since it was prefinished and all we have to do is put adhesive on it and put it on the ceiling. Pediments are the portion of the trim that is located above the pilasters, which are the column-like frames on the sides of windows and doors. Directly below the pediments though, between the pediment and the pilasters, is a crosshead or breastboard. The crosshead is the flatter, protruding section directly above the door. Pediments can be purchased by themselves or can come with a crosshead already attached. These Pediments are manufactured out of high-density urethane, which is made to resemble wood without the maintenance required by wood products. Urethane products are resistant to cracking, splitting, and rotting. They are usually less expensive than wood alternatives.
