Absolutely beautiful, black, solid wood table! It is not engineered wood or cheap MDF. Very easy to assemble. Just add the four legs. One of the two support pieces that go on the underside of the table came unattached during shipping but it was easy to rescrew it back into place. This is a cute table! It’s sturdy and has clean straight lines. I have a small eating area so needed smaller table and this works nicely. This table obviously does not look like a high end table but for the price point it is excellent and will work perfectly for my needs. It’s a nice neutral color and you can easily pair any chairs with it. I recommend looking for chairs with a more narrow seat to fit under the table and I had white chairs from my last kitchen set which did not look good. But i love the way the painted chairs look with it- they play off each other well. I needed a small table to go in my open concept living room/kitchen area that I could also use similarly to an island. This table fit the bill for me and was easy to assemble. The box is around 30lbs so wasn’t too heavy and the instructions were easy to follow and took about an hour including unpacking with two people assembling it. I ordered two small chairs for seating. This dining table has a vintage charm and perfect simplicity. Its warmth in a classic finish will anchor any dining room or kitchen, allowing for creative and colorful décor choices. It seats six people and won't overwhelm smaller dining spaces.

Table looks good, however the top is made from small sections of wood pieced together. Solid, yes, however whatever happened to using full-length boards? Also, assembly only required inserting 8 bolts into leg inserts, however there seemed to be a 'crossed thread' problem with 2 of the 8 inserts that 'seized up' when the bolts were only about halfway in. The thread size was metric, and I only had standard American sized taps, so I had to take the leg off and insert the bolt into the defective inserts and crank them through before bolting the legs on, again. This worked, however just a bit more of a sloppy tap job on the inserts and it might have ruined the threads of the bolt. There's no way, of course, to replace the inserts, and you are only given 8 bolts. One defective part and the table can't be assembled. I think this is better than the price. It super easy to put together (put on the 4 legs and that’s it) and super easy to extend. It is very small when closed (which is what I wanted). I waited until I had the table for a while to post a review. In the 4 months I’ve had it, I have zero complaints. It is the perfect size for my small dinette area.
