It is very nice and more sturdy that I thought it would be. We didn’t bolt it to the deck because we didn’t want to drill into Trex. But we did bolt it to the house which worked good. The instructions are a little confusing in some parts because the pictures are tiny. And after I sliced my finger pretty good on the metal roof, I understood why they give you gloves. Razor sharp. Nice Pergola It’s solid but a little lower than I had envisioned. The front has a shallow gutter with ends open. I’m a trying to figure out how to hang a gutter. It’s very hard to drill. I absolutely love this awning. It’s exactly what I was looking for. It is very well priced and looks very pretty. Sorry for the delayed review, but I did need to hire someone to install it. The assembly and install were a little challenging, even for a master electrician. It wasn't the level of difficulty but rather very vague instructions and more than one incorrect picture. However, we prevailed. Warning: DO NOT remove the tape and zip ties from the arms of the hardware. They are spring-loaded and should not be released until the awning has been hung. Otherwise, it'll be like trying to put a cat in a bucket of water. (we were smart about this) To assemble, have a helper on standby to pull the awning through the roller channel while someone else pushes it. A kid can help with this part. One person can assemble the main hardware. To install the brackets to the home, one person is fine as long as they have the correct drill bits and measure correctly. The brackets are great quality; however, they may not sit flush and level to the wall. We placed 2x2 blocks of wood behind each bracket to fill the empty space and make the install strong and level. To install the awning, you'll want a strong teen or adult to assist. We ordered two of these for our western windows. The kitchen could get up to 104°, however, after installing these, we don’t have a problem with that anymore. They’re relatively easy to assemble, but we’ve had experience putting things together. Someone who’s never put something like this together, the instructions are only pictures. I had installers handle the installation and other than some challenges with drilling it into my cement pad, it seemed to go fine. It certainly looks nice, however, there is no way to affix mosquito netting/screen to it due to the width/square shape of the rim around the top edge. This 12x20 metal carport feels like it is somewhat heavy-duty and well-made. However, assembly is highly complex and not an easy task. You will need at least three people to safely hoist the roof panels and align the heavy frame components. Due to this build complexity, I do not have pictures of the final product yet but will update my review once I do.
